Many of you are likely Jessica Hische fans already, but I have to include her to this list. Hische’s work is really what originally got me interested in hand lettering. Her distinctive style is very illustrative, colorful, creative and recognizable. If you dig her work as much as I do, check out the class she teaches on Skillshare!

His work is insane. I don’t know how else to put it. It’s beautiful, clean, incredibly detailed, amazing… I can’t say enough about it. He has a beautiful portfolio. I also suggest following his instagram. He often posts his works-in-progress or studies on a piece of work before the final. I really enjoy that approach because we get a glimpse into the process he takes to get to his amazing finals, the solution to the problem. I recommend checking out the logo types and hand lettering in his portfolio first, but everything deserves a look.

Kate Pullen’s work is playful and fun. She often uses bright colors and incorporates illustration into her work. Like Johnston, she has a great instagram to follow where she has been known to post snippets of her work. Pullen runs a few workshops and will post accordingly, However, she currently resides in Melbourne, Australia – so, for now, those of us stateside are a bit out of luck. Let’s cross our fingers for an online tutorial or Skillshare class some day. A girl can dream, right?
